Cutting Coventry waiting times

With the introduction of the new 20 week waiting targets for diagnostic investigations several NHS hospitals have been struggling to find cost effective ways of achieving these new stringent targets.

IVS provides an effective, short term, rapid solution for the reduction of vascular ultrasound waiting lists anywhere in the UK. We have a proven track record of reducing waiting times at Royal Gwent, Kettering, North Manchester and Blackpool.

IVS received a request, at short notice, to reduce vascular ultrasound waiting times at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. With a deadline of a 20 week wait for all diagnostic testing by 1st April 2006, IVS and the NHS management team successfully negotiated, implemented and arranged appointments for patients within two weeks of initial contact.

The service began on 28th February 2006 and over 12 days, 422 investigations were appointed, investigated and reported, completing the service on the 24th March 2006.

This proves IVS can provide high quality services at short notice to achieve all NHS targets.
